How is LKP Different?

 

Our priority is the environment and a “green” agenda. Los Kitos Produce and Farms works with minority growers so they are in line

with sustainability practices and food safety standards/certifications.

We help minority growers institute practices which improve crop results and are friendly to our natural resources. Some of these include: waste reduction, renewable energy and minimization of carbon footprint.

 

Our tailored Soil Sustainability System (S3) is aimed at understanding how slight modifications to conventional farming practices can bring about a more sustainable agricultural system as we effectively:

 

• Reduce carbon footprint.

• Reduce water utilization.

• Reduce utilization of at least 30% chemical fertilizers.

• Increase yield.

• Increase fruit strength for transport and longer shelf life.

• Increase flavor and nutritional elements on our fruit.
